Long term, temp to hire

You will be exposed to dust, powder, airborne particles, strong food orders, milk, soy, wheat, and nuts.

Responsible for effective changeover of the packaging lines between product runs. This includes breakdown of equipment, cleaning, re-assembly, set-up of the line to run the next product, training of other employees, and assisting with line clearance. Technician optimizes equipment performance by fine tuning and adjusting equipment to improve quality and efficiency, while also coordinating with maintenance for any assistance needed. The position is very experienced in packaging equipment operations, change overs, and set up of equipment while working independently or in coordination with line leads in the execution of duties on all packaging lines. They will help implement and maintain the TPM program and perform packaging duties as needed. The position will receive direction form the production supervisor and work closely with line leads to ensure schedule adherence.

Experienced in equipment change over, on all packaging lines

Sound mechanical proficiency and basic maintenance experience

Ability to trouble shoot equipment and fine tine equipment settings for optimization

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Must be highly team oriented

High attention to detail

  • Communication: Ability to read, comprehend, and compose instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Analysis and Decision Making: Must possess good analytical, quantitative, and problemsolving skills and technical skills. Ability to creatively apply experience, common sense, and a strategic and economical business perspective to a variety of situations, processes and people. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform all Brake Operator 1 job duties, responsibilities and requirements.

• Set-Up proven jobs, using MPI if available and create one if needed according to standards in a safe manner.

• Evaluate the need to add or delete an operation for proper job costing. Report to Supervisor.
• Ensures the development of parts is accurate and interact with Engineering required for change/s.
• Monitor cycle times and calculate PPH. Report to supervisor if standard needs changing.
• Accurately use EPICOR to Clock In/Out, review Job Tracker, enter Labor Notes, Labor activities and correct counts.
• Inspect first part and QA approval, in-process checks and last part check thoroughly.
• Reporting to Supervisor on any cost saving suggestions for safety, improved quality and productivity.
• Responsible for making sure complete information is given to the next operator taking over the job in terms of safety, quality and productivity.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Sense of urgency at all times, Fast paced, loud noise, climate controlled facility.
  • Use of inspection equipment, some deburring tools
  • Noise protection equipment may be required for some processes
  • Lift over 50lb occasionally (extra hand needed on selected processes)
  • Must wear required PPE on the work area at all times

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-6 months of Forklift experience
  • Knowledge of Forklift Safety Guidelines
  • Lift up to 20-50 lbs, sit, stand, bend and reach
  • Experience in warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Basic computer skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety guidelines
  • Follow standard work instructions as assigned
  • Perform hands-on tasks
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Meet production standards
  • Storing, moving and managing materials
  • Use of handheld scanners or on-board computers
  • Follow warehouse systems and processes
  • Potentially load and unload trailers
