Forklift Operator (Stand-Up) – Shafter, CA
Position: Stand-Up Forklift Operator
Location: Shafter, CA
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Stand-Up Forklift Operator to join our team in Shafter, CA. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment. This position is responsible for transporting materials, supporting shipping and receiving operations, maintaining inventory flow, and ensuring workplace safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Locate, pull, and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished products, packaging supplies, and equipment to designated areas.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and forklift safety checks on assigned equipment.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to production workstations.
- Move products to and from pre-stage order locations.
- Shrink-wrap pallets and prepare shipments for loading and distribution.
- Verify and count incoming supplies and materials against manifests and shipping documentation.
- Monitor packaging supplies and raw material inventory levels and notify management of potential shortages.
- Maintain an organized warehouse and storage areas.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support shipping, receiving, warehouse, and production operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous stand-up forklift experience required.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified upon hire.
- Ability to operate power lift equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, food production, or distribution environment preferred.
- Basic math and inventory counting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Safety & Compliance
- Complete and maintain certification in forklift and powered industrial truck safety training.
- Follow all established safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Understand and comply with quality, safety, environmental, and food safety requirements.
- Maintain the company's commitment to product quality, food safety, legality, and integrity.
- Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and company committees as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or production environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate forklift equipment for extended periods.
