Job Summary
A well-established winery in Parlier, CA is seeking a detail-oriented QC/Lab Technician to join its team. The QC/Lab Technician is responsible for performing laboratory testing, monitoring product quality throughout the winemaking and bottling processes, and ensuring compliance with company quality standards and food safety requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory analyses on wine, juice, and production samples.
- Conduct quality control testing including pH, titration, alcohol, sulfur dioxide (SO2), and other analytical procedures.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing and maintain accurate records of results.
- Monitor production operations to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying corrective actions.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, food safety, and safety regulations.
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist winemaking and production teams with quality-related projects and audits.
Qualifications
- Previous laboratory, quality control, food manufacturing, beverage, or winery experience preferred.
- Associate degree or coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Enology, Food Science, or related field preferred.
- Ability to perform basic laboratory calculations and record data accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures within a production environment.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines.
