Select Staffing in Emeryville is hiring a Machine Operator in a well know Coffee Warehouse in Oakland CA!
Qualifications
0-2 years previous experience in a medium to large warehouse and/or packaging experience
Good command of English language skills both written and oral
Previous experience in a role that requires a strong attention to detail and adherence to guidelines, policies or procedures
Previous experience working in a team environment and demonstrates professional and positive communications and behaviors
Basic math skills (adding, subtracting multiplication)
Able to work a variety of shifts and has a flexible schedule
Visual acuity
Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds free weight
Ability to stand and move for long periods of time (6-8 hours)
Ability to use fingers, hand, reach and bend down (4-6 hours)
Physically able to manually push/pull bins with wheels or pallets with pallet jack weighing up to 1500 lbs
Physically able to push/pull rolling bins of roasted coffee, up a slight incline, weighing up to 1500 lbs
Job description
• Learn and operate equipment such as the Velteko, Matrix, label printer, blending/grinding machines.
• Operate manual packaging equipment to include: heat sealing machine, foot powered bagging machine, coffee mixers, coffee grinders, manual and electric pallet jacks etc.
• Enter lot codes on work orders.
• Clean packaging machinery / work areas daily - document on checklists, follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Operate forklifts to move equipment and supplies.
• Verify correct materials on production lines.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical issues (machines/systems).
• Perform changeovers and shut down all packaging machinery in the roasting plant.
• Conduct process quality control checks.
Inventory, Maintenance
• Perform inventory and/or cycle counts.
• Report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Compliance
• Ensuring compliance with HACCP, Cal / OSHA, FSMA and all food and worker safety processes, procedures, regulations, and sustainability compliance programs.
• Follow Safety / OSHA processes, procedures and regulations
• Follow Food Safety (FSMA) processes, procedures and regulations
• Continuous improvement and 5S projects as directed.
