Description
We have a direct hire opening for a Teacher in San Bruno at a specialized school that serves students ages 5 to 22 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is a 1st shift position.
In this role, work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide an educational program to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Salary and Shift Information:
- Salary: $70-$90K/annually
- 1st shift: 7 AM-3:30 PM; Monday-Friday

Job Duties of the Teacher:
- Use appropriately modified assessment tools to evaluate a student’s current level of functioning as it relates to areas of academics to develop comprehensive interdisciplinary educational plans
- Regularly evaluate and report on student progress and identify their strengths and needs to assist the team in making program modifications
- Prepare reports of progress and complete appropriate documentation and data collections
- Design an appropriate learning environment incorporating appropriate assistive technologies and multi-sensory materials
- Develop and implement instructional activities based on established curriculum with the goal of maximizing communication and participation opportunities
- Manage students Individual Education Plans, Behavior Support Plans, Individual Transition Plans, and complete Special Circumstances Instructional Assistance packets
- Supervise Senior Instructional Assistants, Instructional Assistants, and volunteers; This includes preparing performance evaluations, training and scheduling activities
- Working collaboratively with families, honoring and valuing input, training and educating
- Collaborate with other Teachers, Therapists, Education Coordinators, and Executive Director as needed
Job Requirements of the Teacher:
- Special Education Teacher Credential or Internship Credential authorizing the individual to provide instruction to students with Autism
- Must have the Extensive Support Needs credential to qualify for assisting students with Autism
- Experienced in working with children with moderate to severe cases of Autism
- Education, training and /or work experience developing education programs
- Knowledge of special education principles and strategies as applied to children with Autism
- Knowledge of augmentative & alternative communication principles and strategies, and technology applications currently available in the field
- Trained in Intervention Crisis Training and/or required to be trained when hired by Wings
