Dispatch/Routing Operator Duties:
- Remind TRIP driver a day and 1 hour prior to departing time in yard. (Hangouts or direct call, if no reply, call Dispatch immediately) Be prepared to cover trip if necessary.
- Verify TRIP Driver Attendance in Samsara before job starts. Record Radio Check on Dispatch Log accordingly for the AM/PM - Report absenteeism to HR and Ops Manager
- Coordinate and Support with Dispatch Administrator and Clerk
- Route administration-schedule drivers/bus accordingly in BusHive, BBSI, Samsara and daily logs.
- Monitor Routes are on time - check status daily on Samsara -verify R&D routings are correctly scheduled, provide true times thru Samsara software to R&D scheduler
- Monitor Trips Vehicle Location/Routes software (BusHive/Samsara /BBSI Manager). Make sure trips running on time. Communicate a day prior to trip and 1 hr before- remind drivers.
- Cover Driver on R&D routes/ Trips
- Back up On Call Weekend trip support coordinator
- Verify Bus Refueling Levels at > 50% for routes and 100% for trips
- Verify Bus DEF Refilling Levels at > 75% for trips
- Report all Route & Trip issues to management
- Assist with projects assigned by management
Dispatch: R&D & Shuttles & Trips
- Responsible to inform and hand new/changes/cancellations/returns, etc, to all drivers.
- Keep all staff informed of all changes corresponding to drivers.
- Answer phone calls
- Monitor On Route location in Samsara
- Prepare or Review and email Daily Schedule
- Be fair with route changes and buses.
- Coordinates all special event/extra services
- Direct the drivers and assist them in getting parked in proper parking spot-(Martin can help)

- Update R&D Manifest in BBSI - Uploading to BBSI/tablet previous day per daily schedule
- Help drivers by communicating information accurate and consistent. Be patient and acknowledge all calls, drivers need to know that you are assisting and supporting them at all times
- Keep good behavior in the office.
- Build a relationship with all drivers to sense daily alertness status. Drugs and alcohol test/inspect their conditions.
- Offer drivers solutions during daily operations (route, shuttle and trips) to guarantee service success.
- Communicate with R&D customer service, inside sales and clients, if needed, and management in case of any service interruptions or issues
- Assist with breakdowns (liaison between mechanic and driver), cover drivers ,route changes and all other operations situations.
- Coordinate with lead mechanic and compliance safety coordinator, on all bus status issues and cc: staff
- Drive routes when necessary (proper credential required)
- Report any failure on BBSI/Samsara/Bus Hive to necessary staff. First contact should be customer support from corresponding carrier.
- Closes dispatch daily, turns off lights, windows, coffee machine, AC/Heater, makes sure all buses are shut down, locks all gates and clears with R&D.
