We have a direct hire opening for a Vice President of Operations in Fremont at a company that specializes in contract manufacturing and comprehensive global supply chain management for Fortune 100 clients in the technology, automotive, medical, financial, and energy industries. This is a 1st shift opening!

In this role, oversee operations at all U.S. locations, join the Executive Team, ensure adherence to FDA, ISO 13485 and other relevant standards, uphold production and fulfillment standards, and collaborate extensively with management and staff as well as domestic and international suppliers.

Salary and Shift Information:

  • Salary: $250k-$310k/a year with a discretionary bonus  
  • This is a 1st shift opening

Job Duties of the Vice President of Operations:

  • Effectively manage multiple sites across the U.S. to ensure that operations and related activities are cost effective and profitable.
  • Implement client and corporate requirements across all locations, ensure alignment of processes and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage supply chain, production, and warehousing, duplication, fulfillment, digital print, and facilities.
  • Conduct capacity and resource planning to meet operational demands and develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor efficiency.
  • Oversee local operations cost margins, including pricing strategies, cost tracking, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Work with HR to enhance organizational training and development programs.
  • Establish and maintain excellent production management standards and lean processes with tight cost controls to reduce lead times, cycle times and direct costs.
  • Establish processes in production and set goals for quality and efficiency and monitor adherence to processes and goals.
  • Provide client and account management support, assist with new projects and new product introductions, and support new customer on boarding to ensure satisfaction and meet requirements.
  • Manage operations vendors, including temp agencies, recycling, supplies, repair services, facilities services.
  • Have a constant focus on quality and on continuous improvement, implement management practices to reduce costs, and enhance quality and efficiency in each stage of the process.
  • Act as the ISO process owner for their facilities that are FDA registered, ISO 13485 certified, 3PL POC Rx licensed, QAS accredited, cGMP and HIPAA compliant, and SOC 2 Type 2 certified for privacy protection.
  • Manage the safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Establish and maintain excellent warehouse management practices, set goals for inventory and fulfillment accuracy, and implement processes for handling customer consigned materials and company purchased inventory.
  • Monitor warehouse processes to keep track of inventory and value.

 

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements of the Vice President of Operations:

  • Have 15 years of experience in manufacturing with comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, packaging, distribution, print, media duplication, information flow, and MRP systems.
  • Bachelor of Science or an MBA with an emphasis on production, warehousing, quality, logistics, electronics, global supply chain, and account management.
  • Experience in implementing MRP programs.
  • Fully familiar with inventory, logistics, and import & export compliance.
  • Familiar with statistical process control, ISO 13485, TL 9000, and a costing management environment.
  • Utilize Global supply chain management skills for establishing relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Be on call to handle emergencies
  • Occasional travel to Indianapolis is required to meet the needs of the organization

Salary: $25/hr. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Coach and mentored team leads, responsible for ensuring teams meet and exceed KPI's.
  • Assemble and package accordance to GMP and ISO guidelines.
  • Machine operator experience, basic knowledge.
  • Co-Direct the process of vendor ordering and scheduling in an MRP generate system.
  • Participate in event to improve material flow and improve inventory turn around ratios.
  • Lead events to increase total shop production for assembly/testers resulting in less waste and company cost.
  • Read assembly specifications SPP to follow ISO standards, read charts, blueprints, schematic diagrams and engineering specifications.
  • Analyze MRP system and workload data to effectively plan manpower and distribute work between the manufacturing areas and the machine shop.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and encourage team concepts; foster teamwork.
  • Work closely with engineering to troubleshoot and improve assembly processes.

Assembler Skills/Qualifications:

  • Mechanical and technical skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Safety management mindset
  • Focus on quality control
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small
  • Color vision may be required if your company makes electrical and electronic products that include color-coded wiring

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous Manufacturing, Packaging, and/or Assembly experience
