We have a direct hire opening for a 2nd Shift QA Supervisor in Salinas at a company that specializes in organic leafy greens such as spinach, kale and a variety of salad blends. This is a 2nd shift opening! 

In this role, prevent food safety hazards by managing the HACCP program, oversee quality control processes, and guide QA Technicians in their daily tasks.

Direct Hire Opportunity – Be on our client’s payroll from Day 1!

Salary and Shift Information:

  • Salary: $68k-$70k/annually
  • 2nd shift can start at either 3:30 pm or 4:30 pm and end around 2:30 am; Mon-Sat with Sundays off and one more day off during the week 

Job Duties of the 2nd Shift QA Supervisor:

  • Oversee the company’s HACCP program and regularly review to ensure the HACCP plans are up-to-date
  • Monitor critical control points in the production process to prevent potential food safety hazards
  • Manage QA and Sanitation staff, create work schedules, manage overtime, time off requests, etc. 
  • Calibrate equipment correctly for accurate measurement and quality control
  • Supervise the work of QA Technicians who are documenting observations and inspection findings
  • Manage the collection and analysis of shelf-life samples and other product tests
  • Train employees on food safety, quality assurance, and HACCP principles
  • Lead investigations into quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Prepare for and respond to external audits from regulatory bodies
  • Work closely with managers in other departments to ensure quality standards are integrated into all aspects of production
  • Maintain accurate records of quality checks, audits, and corrective actions
  • Report on quality metrics and trends to sr. management
  • Assist in plant trials and new product launches to ensure quality standards are met
  • Utilize SOP’s to ensure that the plant operates in accordance with good manufacturing practices and in compliance with federal and state regulatory policies

 

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements of the 2nd Shift QA Supervisor:

  • Have 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in fresh cut product
  • Associate’s degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties of the Electrical Controls/Programming Technician:

  • Design PLC systems that automate plant systems/equipment
  • Implement program changes and additions to PLCs systems and Operator Controls
  • Ensure HMIs are programmed to be user friendly with display information that allows operators to control and monitor industrial processes
  • Program VFDs to improve the energy efficiency of electric motors, to control the motor speed, and the performance of motor-driven equipment
  • Program PLCs by setting up the control logic and sequences for automation tasks
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic equipment and instrumentation
  • Communicate with production staff about the condition of the equipment and its effectiveness
  • Resolve complex issues in equipment’s mechanical and software systems
  • Handle various electrical tasks, including conduit layout, wiring, and circuit troubleshooting
  • Layout, form, and run electrical conduit (rigid, emt, and pvc)
  • Identify, pull, and terminate wiring of all sizes
  • Wire in and set up soft start units
  • Troubleshoot AC motors and circuits such as 110v, 240v, 480v
  • Troubleshoot low voltage DC motors and circuits such as 6v, 12v, 24v, 36v, 48v, and 90v
  • Troubleshoot electrical alarm systems like security sensors, fire alarm, and ammonia detecting devices
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Ensure the wiring schematics in the system are up-to-date

 

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements of the Electrical Controls/Programming Technician:

  • Have 2 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment working with these systems
  • Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedures, machinery operation, Allen Bradley PLCs, communication protocols, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, steam boilers, and ammonia/freon chilling systems
  • Have basic welding skills for equipment mounting is preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints (technical drawings) and written work instructions.

• Perform complex parts assembly operations using various tooling, fixtures and hand tools.

• Must have experience in mechanical assembly.

• Ensuring parts conform to Drawing Specifications.

• Participate 5s, LEAN Kaizen and problem-solving team activities.

• Must adhere to all the company’s safety requirements.

• Able to work overtime as needed including weekends.

• Minimum 1 year Assembly experience in an Aerospace or Equivalent Manufacturing environment preferred

• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions in English.

Hiring an experienced Supervisor for a Motor/ Electrical Shop in Hayward CA. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the daily service operations and customer service support of the service center.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Supervise technicians to perform quality, timely and efficient work. Prioritizes schedules and assigns work.
  • Promote and schedule training and development of service technicians.
  • Responsible for delivering technician operating performance results in line with established and posted goals.
  • Manages the failure analysis and warranty decision making process.
  • Determine customer payment method and prepare internal external customer quotations.
  • Maintain operation of shop and service areas in a safe, clean and effective manner as established by company policy.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local regulations to operation including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, DOT and worker’s compensation.
  • Facilitate maintenance of company-owned shop equipment, vehicles and property.
  • Manage shop supplies, tooling expenditures and related inventories.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Associate’s or Technical School preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience required.
