Position Summary
The Sanitation Team Member plays a critical role in ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary food-grade environment for our employees, products, and consumers. Working closely with the sanitation and production teams, this role focuses on preventing microbial risks and maintaining equipment and production areas in a constant “visit-ready” state.
The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, an innate sense of cleanliness, and a commitment to safety, food quality, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate dry powder filling and packaging equipment as trained
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain production equipment, conveyors, buildings, and grounds
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely while using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Wash, treat, and sanitize processing lines according to cGMP guidelines and SOPs
- Support preventative maintenance (PM) and equipment rebuilds through detailed cleaning and reconditioning
- Participate in equipment inspections to ensure food safety standards are met
- Support Quality Assurance (QA) through sanitation inspections and swab sampling
- Complete sanitation monitoring and quality data sheets in Red Zone
- Follow housekeeping, GMP, quality, and food safety standards at all times
- Communicate professionally with team members and visitors
- Actively support a strong food safety culture and safe work environment
- Identify hazards and report safety concerns in a timely manner
- Make recommendations for continuous improvement in sanitation and food safety systems
- Assist with custodial cleaning as needed
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate
- Ability to demonstrate consistent sanitary practices following training
- Completion of required training, including:
- Blood Borne Pathogen Training
- Hazardous Material Identification and Proper Disposal
- Basic knowledge of food safety, quality, sanitation, and production systems
- Ability to follow detailed and complex work instructions
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts with advance notice
- Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights up to 25 feet
- Ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift
