Reports To: Director of Commercialization – Private Label Spices
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Technical Project Coordinator to support their Commercialization team focused on private label spice products. This is a hands-on, lab-based, temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for an early-to-mid career food science or product development professional looking to grow into a long-term commercialization role.
The Technical Project Coordinator will support the transition of developed formulas into finished, customer-ready products by conducting lab measurements, coordinating production trials, and managing samples, specifications, and cross-functional deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Innovation team to convert developed spice formulations into finished-goods specifications, including conducting key lab measurements such as net weight and bulk density.
- Translate laboratory findings into clear, accurate finished product specifications aligned with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate packaging solutions based on spice characteristics such as bulk density and flow properties.
- Plan and coordinate bottle fill and production trials with Innovation, Plant, and Operations teams.
- Own the end-to-end sample request process, including intake, preparation, tracking, and ongoing communication of sample status to Sales and other stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain laboratory sample storage, including development of an inventory tracking system.
- Develop and manage a centralized product library to provide Sales and cross-functional partners with visibility into approved SKUs, raw materials, and packaging.
- Manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring on-time completion of all required cross-functional steps.
- Enter and maintain SKU-specific technical and product data within customer-owned portals in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain a strong focus on task and project management to meet timelines, milestones, and customer commitments.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality, Operations, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in food science, product development, quality, or production (food industry preferred).
- General understanding of food product development and commercialization processes.
- Comfort working in a laboratory environment and using basic testing and measurement equipment.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and task-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Innovation, Operations, Quality, and Sales teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and project needs.
Preferred
- Experience supporting private label products or commercialization efforts.
- Exposure to plant trials or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with customer portals, specifications, or sample management processes.
