Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $17.25/hour
Location: Commerce, CA
Schedule: 1st Shift: Thursday – Monday, 4:15 AM – 12:30 PM
The Machine Operator is responsible for meeting production and quality goals through the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment. This role includes machine setup, operation, basic troubleshooting, quality control, and ensuring proper materials are staged at the machine. The Machine Operator may also perform Material Handler I duties as needed and assist with leading and coordinating labor to support production needs.
Equipment operated may include, but is not limited to: 227, Alphaliner, and Ferag machines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials into assigned machines
- Perform Material Handler I duties as required
- Set up machine components and validate proper configuration
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make minor non-mechanical adjustments (e.g., clearing jams, calibration) while following all safety and maintenance procedures
- Operate machines via computer interface using keyboard and mouse
- Monitor machine performance and respond to error messages as needed
- Collect machine performance data and enter information into MS Excel spreadsheets
- Perform quality control (QC) checks on finished products
- Resolve productivity and quality issues independently
- Support and comply with internal and external audits
- Analyze and report critical production data to the Production Lead or Supervisor
- Recommend improvements related to machine usage, quality, and labor utilization
- Maintain housekeeping and follow all safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse usage
- Familiarity with quality control procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as required
