Location: Gardena, CA
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Welder to perform advanced welding, cutting, brazing, and metal fabrication for heater assembly components. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior welders while supporting production quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced welding, cutting, brazing, and metal fabrication for components used in heater assemblies.
- Execute MIG and TIG welding, including stainless steel applications based on project requirements.
- Weld frames, enclosures, brackets, housings, back panels, and grounding components that interface with electrical assemblies (no live electrical work).
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding methods, filler metals, materials, and parameters.
- Prepare, align, assemble, and tack components before final welding.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance; perform rework as needed.
- Apply strong working knowledge of metals and materials used in heater manufacturing.
- Identify root causes of weld defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Support troubleshooting of fitment, distortion, and any production challenges related to welding.
- Mentor and guide junior and entry-level welders, ensuring consistent technique and quality.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work environment.
- Notify supervisors of defective materials, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Promote and enforce safe welding practices and required PPE usage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Advanced welding skills with demonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, and stainless steel welding.
- Strong understanding of metals, fabrication techniques, and weld quality requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot weld defects and advise on corrective actions.
- Experience mentoring or training less-experienced welders.
- Safety-focused, organized, and able to maintain high-quality standards.
