Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Schedule: Thursday–Monday, 4:15 AM – 12:30 PM

Location: Commerce: CA

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Machine Operator to support production goals by safely operating equipment, setting up machines, coordinating workflow, and ensuring consistent product quality. This role also includes performing Material Handler 1 duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Load and unload materials into machines; perform Material Handler 1 tasks as required.
Set up machine components and validate proper configuration before operation.
Troubleshoot machine components and perform minor non-mechanical adjustments (e.g., clearing jams, calibrating equipment) to maintain safe and efficient operation.
Monitor machine performance using computer interfaces; input data, navigate assignments, and respond to system prompts.
Collect performance data and enter results into Excel for tracking and reporting.
Conduct quality control checks on finished products; independently resolve productivity or quality issues.
Support internal and external audits by providing accurate performance data and insights.
Communicate critical findings to Production Leads/Supervisors and recommend improvements in machine usage, quality processes, and crew efficiency.
Maintain housekeeping and adhere to all safety procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Ability to multi-task.
Demonstrates ability to line lead or crew lead for one (1) machine.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment).
Attention to detail.
Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns).
Ability to assess obstacles and take corrective action.
Mathematical skills and ability to read and comprehend daily machine reports.
Basic computer skills, technical skills may vary based on the equipment.
Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack.
Working knowledge of machine components & manufacturing operations.
Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (preferred).
