Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Tool Room Clerk to support our operations by accurately tracking, organizing, and maintaining tools and equipment. This role is essential to ensuring proper inventory control, accountability, and smooth workflow within a manufacturing or production environment. Key Responsibilities
Data Entry & Record Management
- Accurately input tool and equipment information into databases, including serial numbers, descriptions, quantities, and locations.
- Maintain detailed records of all tool transactions, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Update inventory logs in real time to ensure data accuracy.
Inventory Management
- Track tool and equipment availability, condition, and location.
- Conduct routine audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Report discrepancies and assist in resolving inventory issues.
Issue & Return Operations
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for tools and equipment.
- Ensure timely returns and monitor overdue items.
- Verify tool condition upon return and document any damage or issues.
Organization & Workflow Support
- Keep the tool room clean, organized, and well-labeled for efficient retrieval.
- Store tools and equipment in an orderly, logical manner.
- Support other departments by fulfilling tool requests quickly and accurately.
Reporting
- Generate usage, availability, and inventory reports as needed.
- Provide data that helps management make informed decisions about equipment needs and maintenance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure tools and equipment meet safety standards and undergo necessary inspections.
- Coordinate with maintenance or safety teams for repairs, calibrations, and compliance checks.
Communication & Security
- Communicate with supervisors, technicians, and team members regarding tool needs, shortages, or issues.
- Implement security protocols to prevent loss, theft, or unauthorized access.
- Report suspicious activity or discrepancies immediately.
Maintenance Coordination
- Schedule or coordinate routine maintenance and repairs for tools and equipment.
- Track service history to ensure tools remain safe and functional.
Qualifications
- Experience in inventory control, warehouse, manufacturing, or tool room environment preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inventory systems, databases, or ERP tools.
- Ability to organize and maintain physical and digital inventory records.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift tools/equipment as needed and work in a fast-paced environment.
