Inventory Control Specialist
Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support daily warehouse and production operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting audit compliance, and ensuring proper material flow throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods using WMS/ERP systems.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO rotation, lot control, expiration date tracking, and traceability.
- Verify receiving, storage, transfer, and shipping transactions for accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies, shortages, and overages; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all materials and finished goods are properly labeled, including lot codes and expiration dates.
- Support food safety programs such as GMPs, HACCP, and allergen control.
- Assist with internal and external audits (FDA, USDA, SQF, customer audits).
- Communicate inventory issues that may affect production, quality, or customer fulfillment.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to prevent inventory and labeling errors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records per regulatory and audit requirements.
- Follow all safety policies and food safety standards.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant certification preferred.
- 2+ years of inventory control experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO rotation, lot tracking, expiration control, and traceability.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks as needed.
- Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including refrigerated or freezer areas (if applicable).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
