Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services. This role plays a vital part in ensuring materials, supplies, and services are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with company goals and production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services including raw materials, tools, supplies, equipment, repairs, and MRO items
- Place purchase orders promptly while adhering to company policies and procedures
- Maintain and manage stock levels, including replenishment, non-stock review, returns, and dead inventory analysis
- Ensure procurement is conducted in a cost-effective, timely manner while balancing cost, quality, and urgency
- Collaborate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and service support
- Review requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers for accuracy and compliance
- Analyze data to evaluate pricing trends and ensure reasonable costs
- Identify supply demand to support production needs and plant operations
- Expedite orders and communicate delivery timelines to internal teams; follow up on backorders
- Perform month-end inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and improvements in supply chain efficiency
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives, including Total Manufacturing Cost (TMC) for new products
Requirements
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in inventory systems and computer software
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles
