Job Duties: 

  • Responsible for the accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. 
  • Loading and unloading product in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner.
  • Moving product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate area.
  • Maneuvering a forklift and/or pallet jack as well as either an order picker or turret truck through limited space areas.
  • Operating specific material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required.
  • Checking or counting products for accuracy and/or damage and infestation.
  • Operating Radio Frequency (RF) terminals to ensure accurate local inventories.

A baking company in Richmond is looking for a QC/Compliance Manager to assist in several areas: Prepare/enforce/monitor the Food Safety and Food Defense plans, manage/train QA staff, and provide your leadership in everything that is QA/QC.

They are a bread company that makes sour dough and other artisan breads for restaurants, retail grocery stores, schools, etc.

Pay, Schedule, and Benefits Information:

  • Pay: $70k-$80k/annually
  • Schedule: 6 am-2:30 pm; Monday-Friday
  • Employee benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, and 401k through Fidelity (No current match)

Job Duties of the QC Manager:

  • Develop and implement policies, operational procedures, and create SOPs that support a food safety program
  • Prepare the Food Safety and Food Defense plans and enforce and monitor all aspects of these plans
  • Have knowledge of HACCP, food safety modernization act, preventative controls, sanitary transport, foreign supplier verification, and food defense.
  • Ensure staff in all departments are in compliance to QA/GMP procedures with PPE, proper food handling, hand washing, etc.
  • Create processes, procedures, and documentation for the GMP prerequisite program
  • Create/maintain nutritional and ingredient panels for food products
  • Create specification documents for each product that details the: size, weight, color, and other basic attributes
  • Create/maintain school nutrition program documentation
  • Perform a variety of inspections, including in process, final inspections, on ingredients, finished product, labels, boxes, dates, etc.
  • Ensure good record-keeping practices for the QC/QA inspections in the quality management system for audits

  • Manage and improve internal systems, such as for online file storage, information sharing, calendaring, recordkeeping, managing receipts and invoices, etc. 

    • Organize and update online file storage

    • Keep internal calendar

  • Provide logistical support for the company including arranging rentals, set up, vendor contracts, registration, volunteer communication, payments, tracking attendance, and other event-related needs

    • Find locations for events as needed, book venues and/or manage reservation contact logistics, ensure all rental rules/requirements are followed

    • Communicate with event volunteers, participants, and vendors as necessary

    • Bill participants for ongoing programs initial billing and registration procedures; ensure participants pay either full fee or deposit by program start date

      • Create payment plans, track payments, and bill participants, including follow up billing as needed

    • Track program attendance and enter into Salesforce 

    • Support volunteer-led events by:

      • Assisting with scheduling while ensuring no conflicts with other company events

      • Setting up Zoom links and ensuring the facilitator has any technical support required to host the event

      • Attending Community Involvement Team meetings to support volunteer-led programs
