We are looking for an organized, detail focused Inventory Coordinator to support our plant inventory processes. In this role, you will help ensure that materials and products are accurately tracked, properly stored, and available when needed. You will work closely with the Inventory Manager and partner with multiple departments to keep inventory records accurate and aligned with production needs.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the Inventory Coordinator organizes and conducts periodic inventory counts, adjusts quantities and locations, and reports discrepancies. This position is responsible for ensuring all plant inventory is accurately recorded. You will use information systems, standard processes, and strong communication to optimize inventory and storage so that the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
Responsibilities
- Participate in investigating missing products
- Complete cycle counts for packaging and ingredients and communicate low levels to the Inventory Supervisor or Manager
- Complete cycle counts for raw materials and byproducts, maintaining and reporting inventory levels
- Work with internal departments to coordinate product disposition for use or disposal
- Train warehouse personnel on inventory management procedures
- Maintain standard work for inventory processes and update as needed
- Partner with production, shipping, and receiving teams to address production discrepancies
- Assist with monthly physical inventory reconciliation alongside the Purchasing Coordinator
- Immediately escalate material shortages across departments
- Maintain minimal packaging inventory to meet sales and production needs
- Oversee and track all inventory changes
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels in third party warehouses and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain reliable attendance and timeliness
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
- At least one year of experience in inventory, production, or as a department coordinator
- Ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Basic skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and intermediate skills in MS Outlook
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
- Comfortable walking through warehouses and multiple buildings and working in environments with dust, hot or cold temperatures, and occasional loud noise
