Shift: Swing Shift – 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Fremont, CA. Under limited supervision, the Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and running simple to medium complexity production jobs on various brake press machines including RG’s, LD, HDS, and ATC (upon training and certification).
This position requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and a commitment to producing high-quality components while following established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate brake press machines for proven production jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Coordinate with Engineering and fellow Brake Operators to fully understand job specifications.
- Use and update MPI documentation, creating or modifying as needed per company standards.
- Complete Brake Inspection Sheets; edit or delete when necessary and notify Supervisor.
- Evaluate production processes to ensure accurate job costing and report potential changes to Supervisor.
- Ensure the development and accuracy of parts, interacting with Engineering for required updates.
- Monitor cycle times and calculate Parts Per Hour (PPH); notify Supervisor if standard adjustments are needed.
- Utilize EPICOR software for clocking in/out, reviewing job trackers, entering labor notes, and recording accurate counts.
- Conduct thorough inspections of first parts, in-process parts, and final parts to meet quality assurance standards.
- Communicate any safety, quality, or productivity improvement ideas to Supervisor.
- Provide complete, accurate hand-off information to the next shift operator to ensure seamless job continuation.

Qualifications:
- Previous brake press operation experience preferred.
- Ability to set up and run production jobs independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of brake press machines (RG’s, LD, HDS, ATC) preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection sheets.
- Familiarity with EPICOR or similar ERP systems a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
