Summary:
Responsible for assembling electronic equipment. In this role you will be required to read and interpret instructions, assemble parts and use tools to fit electronic components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all Assembler 1 and 2 job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun.
- Performing soldering.
- Maintain Customers and MASS Quality requirements.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- Train others to assemble, install, inspect and minor electromechanical systems.
- Train others on the Hardware machines.
- Responsible to meet ISO quality standards, which require individuals to take responsibility for their own quality, verify their work is correct and then affix their signature to the appropriate documentation (i.e., drawing, checklist, etc.).
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits.
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
- Pack finished products for shipment.
- Tag components.
- Adjust or repair electrical equipment. preferred
- Correct defects.
- Test product to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Build products such as electric motors, computers, electronic control devices.
- Set-up and operate multiple processes and or machines in the employee’s immediate department.
- Ability to problem solve issues that arise that require immediate understanding of what the problem is and how to stop it from happening.
- Ability to understand and contribute to a long-term fix of problems that arise.
- Minimizing the risk of defects before they occur or preventing future defects.
- Proven experience as an Assembler.
- Possess a good knowledge of various assembly line stations.
- Problem solving attitude towards challenging tasks.
- Possess knowledge of various mechanical tools and their usage.
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, basic schematics, etc.
- Ability in using all required tools.
- Ability to use soldering or micro-welding equipment.
- Good understanding of quality control requirements for MASS Precision and customers.
- Good communication skills for training (verbal and written).
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to run hardware machine.
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skill.
- Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.
- Ability to be cross trained in other departments to help with unexpectedly high demand.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Focus on job detail and requirements.
- Flexible to work in other areas when needed.
Work Environment
- Alternating between sitting and standing as necessary to complete tasks performed at variable bench levels ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
- Required to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. for short distances.
- Required to push/pull a cart with supplies short distances with up to 15 lbs. of force.
- Required to wear safety glasses and protective gloves at all times.
