Job Opening: QC Inspector (A or C Shift)

JOB TITLE: QC INSPECTOR
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Hourly
REPORTING TO: QC SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY:
The QC Inspector Packer will be responsible for following all procedures and work instructions to achieve optimal quality, safety, and production, therefore assuring customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished plastic bottles.
- Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, and functional tests to verify compliance with specifications.
- Use measuring tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check product dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, including measurements, test results, and any deviations from quality standards.
- Monitor the production process to identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit quality reports and non-conformance reports to the QC Supervisor.
- Interpret engineering drawings and accurately record dimensional inspection data.
- Adapt quickly to changes in specifications and methods.
- Operate pallet jacks/power jacks as required.
- Perform hourly or as-needed visual inspections of production.
- Carry up to 55 lbs as necessary.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the department and plant.
- Follow all product safety regulations and procedures established by the company according to SQF code, Cal OSHA, GMPs, and industry standards.
- Communicate with the Supervisor and staff on a daily basis.
- Perform other related processing tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Self-directed and able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with production staff and management.
- Proficient in English for reading and writing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Education
- Experience operating blow molding or injections molding machines, preferred but not required
- Forklift – prior experience a plus/we will certify
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
