Job Opening: Accounting Clerk
Description
The position of Accounting Clerk shall require an experience requirement of at least one year of managing and maintaining accounting records similar to those of the District, possession of a knowledge of modern office methods and the ability to schedule work loads and delegate jobs to keep office running in a timely manner to meet all deadlines. The party shall possess good communication skills to interact with the public for the District’s business.
As the Accounting Clerk, the party shall be responsible for preparing bank deposits, balancing cash drawer, and bank reconciliation, transferring of funds as needed, access the Internet for LAIF quarterly interests reports, the posting of disbursements and receipts to appropriate ledgers, and payroll reporting for PER’S. Prepare quarterly and end of year tax reports, make review of accounts payable invoices and code for payment, the performance of a monthly trail balance of all funds and tie this into the monthly printout, the preparation of monthly income and expenses reports, update A/R journal worksheets, preparing customer billing, posting checks daily into the cash receipts from customers, overseeing and entering data for vendors and payroll checks and reviewing the payrolls and meter reads, reviewing all incoming mail and outgoing letters, bills, and notices, ensure the maintenance of all files on service accounts, accounts payable, workers compensation and all other insurance, assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monthly review of same, the preparation of Board correspondence, assists in cleaning office and attendance at and preparation of the minutes and agenda data for the meetings and Board meeting binders for distribution. The position requires having books balanced and all information gathered for the annual audit and interacting with the attorney, engineer, auditor, insurance agent and customers within policy and procedures and as directed by the Board. The position also may require handling of emergency calls and possible call outs for District business. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, District Board members, outside agencies and the public. All other tasks as assigned
