Electro-Mechanical Production Assembler Job Description
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Cleans production areas when required, keep work area clean, neat, and orderly
- Responsible for component level quality assurance
- May perform testing, quality inspections and reworking of deficient components and/or finished products to ensure efficient operation
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Processes assemblies using a variety of hand tools (wrenches, drivers, sockets)
- Perform the mechanical assembly of electronic component assemblies within standard build times
- Experience in Assembly work is preferred but not required
- Will be standing most of the time
- Able to lift 50+ LBS as needed
- Able to work overtime and weekends if necessary
- Assists with shipping and receiving duties
Desired experience for production assembler includes:
- Able to assemble products according to Bill of Material ensuring the proper parts, components, revisions of parts, and documentation are included
- Able to determine wire routing, cut, strip, label, crimp and terminate wire and secure bundles in accordance with engineering documentation
- Able to layout cabinets, determining locations of components, wire runs
- Select proper hardware, and as necessary, drill, tap, punch and cut to mount components in cabinets and on panels
- Basic Electrical testing experience
- Ability to work from written instructions, wiring diagrams
- Experience with reading wire tables, system schematics, assembly drawings, process and supplier drawings for wiring and assembly of parts
- A minimum of 1 year of production or assembly experience is preferred, but Not Required
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions and perform basic math
- Must be capable of using hand tools, measuring devices and other tools needed to perform job functions
