Job Opening: Caregiver (Bilingual English/Cantonese)
Description
We have direct hire openings for Caregivers (Bilingual English/Cantonese) in San Francisco at a non-profit healthcare organization. Our client offers medical, social, and daily living support services to elderly clients within the community. This is a 1st shift opening!
In this role, you will assist elderly clients complete activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, and other tasks that ensure they receive the essential care.
Direct Hire Opportunity – Be on our client’s payroll from Day 1!
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay: $21.16-$28.22/hour
- 1st shift: 8 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Job Duties of the Caregiver (Bilingual English/Cantonese):
- Assist with personal care duties, including grooming, dressing, perineal care, showers, bathing, and toileting based on the individual care plan.
- Engage in housekeeping, meal preparation/feeding, and laundry tasks
- Monitor and report any changes in the participant’s condition to the interdisciplinary team
- Follow correct techniques when lifting or moving a client and use standard safety measures to prevent the spread of infections
- Interact professionally with participants, their families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Encourage participation in conversations and activities

Job Requirements of the Caregiver (Bilingual English/Cantonese):
- Bilingual English and Cantonese language skills are required
- At least one year of experience working with the elderly or frail population, (no certification required)
- Ability to translate/interpret basic information for supervisors/managers, participants, and other caregivers
- Document care-related items on designated forms or within electronic health records
- Capable of stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping
- Lift/move weight according to one's own strength and ability; use proper equipment when lifting, or ask for assistance if the weight is too heavy or challenging
