Job Opening: QA Manager
Description
We have a direct hire opening for a QA Manager Richmond at a commercial bakery that specializes in sourdough and artisan breads. This is a 1st shift opening!
As a QA Manager, you’ll spend your day overseeing product inspections, establishing food safety measures, analyzing discrepancies, and guiding staff to uphold food safety and quality standards of the industry.

Pay, Schedule, and Benefits Information:
- Pay: $70k-$80k/annually
- Schedule: 6 am-2:30 pm; Monday-Friday
- Employee benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, and 401k through Fidelity (No current match)
Job Duties of the QA Manager:
- Develop and implement food safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance
- Oversee the inspection and testing of products, materials, and processes to ensure compliance and quality standards
- Develop and implement preventive measures to reduce or eliminate food safety and compliance issues
- Implement and manage the company’s HACCP Program, including designing a food safety program to ensure compliance with FSMA and other food safety regulations
- Identify potential hazards, develop preventive controls, and establish procedures to monitor the effectiveness of the program
- Train and provide guidance to staff on quality assurance and control procedures
- Monitor the effectiveness of the program and perform audits to ensure the company is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations
- Analyze and investigate root causes of food safety violations and develop corrective action plans
Job Requirements of the QA Manager:
- Have 3 years of experience in QA or QC, in a food manufacturing environment
- Must have the following certifications: Process Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) and Food Defense Coordinator
- Have knowledge and experience in food safety and food defense
- 1 years of management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, and Food Safety Modernization Act guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Be collaborative with good communication skills
