Job Opening: Pump Crew Operator- 2nd Shift

Select Staffing in Emeryville is hiring a Tank Farm Operator for a well known wax company in Richmond, CA.
Pay Rate:$20
Shift: 4:15-12:45am
- Sweeping
- Shoveling material from ground
- Slippery surfaces
- Operating power washer
- Helping to monitor the dumpster
- Reporting when full
- Keeping the lid closed when necessary
- Dedicated to producing the highest quality product possible.
- Dress appropriately in company provided uniforms (once qualified) and always utilizes all appropriate PPE
- To always wear the appropriate safety equipment provided as needed to perform required duties.
- Periodic checks of the tanks – Climbing stairs
- To follow Production Planner direction regarding various other job duties such as obtaining packaging materials as needed, general clean-up duties.
- Know and follow all company policies
- Occasionally load or unload tank cars and tank trucks (and all appropriate paperwork)
- Lifting hoses and steam lines
- Squatting below tank cars
- Climbing stairs
- Uneven surfaces
- Place flags and other rail safety devices
- Properly follow blending instructions and charge additives. (And all appropriate paperwork)
- Lifting from range shoulder height to waist level (up to 60 lbs)
- Lifting hoses – reaching to ground level to attach
- Understands tanks and locations
- Take sample to the lab for testing
- Complete blending instructions fully (and all appropriate paperwork)
- Collect tank samples as requested
- Uses measuring tools safely and correctly
- Safely operate the forklift in all areas of the plant
- Follow all safety training and GMP training requirements
- Be a responsible member of the Spill Team
- Ability to operate pumps while monitoring pressures, adjusts valves to regulate the flow and pressures from the pumps
- Maintains pumps and lines by replacing filters, gaskets, connections
- Possibly assist at IMTT with vessel off-loading
- Communicates well with drivers and other employees to properly communicate challenges presented on a day-to-day basis
- Ability to apply general problem-solving skills and possibly apply minor mechanical ability to achieve a positive result
- Works well in groups or independently
- When not busy with regular pump crew functions help in production
- Measure the tank levels in the morning and fill into the Pump Record then giving to person responsible in the office
- Communicate with production group to circulate the tanks supplying to the belts
- When batch blending or transferring, properly label the tanks.
- All other duties as assigned.
