Job Opening: Junior Sales Representative
Description
We have a direct hire opening for a Junior Sales Representative in Richmond at a food company specializing in dessert and baked good products.
The Junior Sales Representative will learn how products should be displayed in the store, sales techniques, and sell baked goods and desserts to retail clients, distributors, and brokers in the Bay Area and Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Work in the office in Richmond, travel to retail customers in the Bay Area, and travel 25% of the time to meet with customers in AZ, NM, and TX.

Pay and Schedule Information:
- Pay: $26-$30/hour
- Schedule: This is a 1st shift position with occasional weekends due to travelling
- Benefits: Company will contribute 75% toward the cost of medical insurance, 100% paid full dental and vision coverage, Paid Time Off, and a 401k plan with a company match of 4%
Job Duties of the Junior Sales Representative:
- Sell freshly baked goods (in-store bakery section) and frozen desserts (Frozen section) to Retail Corporate Managers, retail and food service distributors, and brokers that are approved by the management
- Prospect and identify potential clients
- Develop effective sales techniques and strategies
- Be able to present the company’s products and services and close deals
- Build relationships with a variety of customers
- Research and contact potential clients to achieve sales goals
- Manage customer accounts and document activities in the system
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Marketing, and Logistics departments.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to review sales performance metrics
- Train with the Sales Manager to understand how the products should be displayed in the store, sales techniques, and how to be successful
- Merchandise products within existing customer stores
- Travel 25% of the time to the Southwest region of the U.S.
Job Requirements of the Junior Sales Representative:
- Entry level experience in sales prospecting, developing new business, making presentations, and closing sales
- Experience in the food industry is preferred but not required
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Reside in the Bay Area with the ability to work in the main office in Richmond
- Have strong relationship-building skills and promote the company’s values, brand, and product lines
