Responsibilities
Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to the food packing employees to enable them to work more effectively.
Knowledge of cold food production processes.
Improve production process to increase productivity and process controls.
Ensure meal packing deadlines are met daily according to the production schedule.
Ensure no shortages occur and all meals are produced to specifications.
Ensure meal portions are properly controlled and accurately measured by employees.
Measure and manage productivity in the department to identify areas for improvement.
Manage storage and rotation of daily food production overages to minimize waste.
Hold regular communication meetings with employees to review safety & hygiene.
Communicate shift schedule changes to employees and plan for call offs.
Manage production schedules and processes to minimize overtime.
Ensure that HACCP, USDA and GMP standards are achieved, and food production documents are filled and accurate daily.
Knowledge of internal policies and procedures will be trained.
Competent to work independently, ask questions and seek direction as required.
Knows and follows all safety requirements; strives to maintain a safe work environment.
Effectively gives and receives feedback.
Must be a good team player and leader.
