Job Description BASIC FUNCTION: Perform lab testing on in-process and finished products; record and report results in order to ensure highest standards of quality are met or exceeded and in compliance with federal, state, and company specifications PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: -Gathers samples for analytical testing and performs various Dairy laboratory tests on products, raw materials, ingredients and lab samples to determine if they meet necessary requirements. -Prepares samples of products for future reference and documents results. -Examines results of audit tests to identify problems with such things as sanitation and manufacturing processes. -Enters laboratory data into computer system. -Alert management when products are out of specification. -Responsible for reporting food safety or quality problems to management and assists in appropriate personnel. -Examines inventory to determine what supplies need to be ordered and informs appropriate personnel. -Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. -Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Job Requirements Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Biology, or related discipline or Associate degree with relevant experience. -1-3 years experience. -Must be able to perform basic math and reading skills -Ability to follow oral and written directions. -Basic Computer Skills -Ability to work under adverse conditions to include limited exposure to a 35° temperature cold storage environment. -Flexibility to work weekends, shifts and overtime. -Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds. -Ability to read meters and charts accurately and possess skills to maintain lab records. -Familiarity with lab procedures, such as the dairy lab and Babcock testing; proper use and care of laboratory testing and analyses equipment. -Highly self-motivated and able to work without supervision. -Work requires frequent standing, walking, and repetitive motions with good dexterity.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the receiving of product; as well as managing the computer inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills of landing or other records
  • Assemble cardboard or wooden containers or select preassembled containers
  • Examine and unpack incoming items
  • Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilize the AS400 system to mantain accurate inventory records.
  • Basic Math skills
  • Complete Letdown and Put Away tasks
  • Ability to manage and support multiple tasks
  • Must possess the ability to work well with others under minimal supervision
  • Position will require certification on facility equipment
  • Performs these and other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years experience in Distribution.

 

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and stand.
  • Regularly use hand and fingers to handle or feel tools or equipment.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.
