Associate FAQs

When I am on an assignment for one of Select’s customers, who is my employer?
Regardless of which of Select’s customers you work for, Select is always your employer. Your Select Staffing Supervisor is your contact for all work assignments or employment issues.

How long does my assignment last?
Assignments can span a variety of lengths. It may be one day to six months or even longer. Some assignments are called Direct Placements, where you will become a staff employee of the client right away. In this case, our client becomes your employer immediately; Select would not be your employer in a Direct Placement scenario.

What should I do when my assignment has ended?
Be sure to let your Select Supervisor know when your work assignment ends so we can assist in continuing your job search and consider placing you in a new position.

Will this turn into a full-time job?
Many temporary jobs do transition into full-time jobs, depending on your performance and what the client needs. Many businesses use our services as a way to decide if there is a good fit between employer and employee. If your assignment turns into a full-time job, the client will become your direct employer rather than Select.

What should I do if my job duties are different than those that were described to me?
Please notify your Select Supervisor immediately, especially if safety is a concern.

What is the policy if I’m unable to report to work or will be in late?
If for any reason you must be late or absent from your assignment, notify Select as soon as possible. This permits Select to meet our customer’s needs by sending a replacement.

When should I submit my timecard?
All timecards must be turned in by 9:00 A.M. Monday morning in order to be paid on Friday of the same week. To submit your timecard via PeopleNet.

When can I expect to be paid?
Payday is the Friday of the week you submit your properly completed timecard (if Friday is a holiday, then payday will be the preceding Thursday). Associates using direct deposit or paycards may review their paystub by clicking here or calling 866.395.9200.

What should I do if I am injured while on assignment?
If an accident occurs and you are injured while on the job, call your Select Supervisor or safety coordinator immediately! You are employed by Select and covered by Select’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance. We must be notified immediately so that we can make sure you are given care and attention at the proper medical facility.

What should I do if I see one of my co-workers faking or exaggerating an injury?
Please let us know immediately if you witness workers’ compensation fraud by calling us at 866-928-1878 or emailing [email protected]. Workers’ comp fraud is not a victimless crime; it is an offense that hurts everyone. Select has a strong reputation of success in pursuing temporary employees who seek to file fake or exaggerated workers’ compensation claims. If you report workers’ comp fraud and it results in a conviction, we will pay you $1,000 cash. For more details, visit our Report Fraud page.
